Clearly, what football needs is more alcohol
Just in case you thought there wasn’t enough alcohol marketing sloshing around the Beautiful Game, sports radio station talkSPORT has announced that “Carlsberg is set to further its football credentials” with a competition to find a new commentator from amongst the fans. The winner of this “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” will join talkSPORT’s commentary team at a Premier League game on the last day of the season.
Launched by Jeff Stelling on talkSPORT, the competition will run until May 2015, with on-air updates and adverts, and will be promoted in pubs and at Premier League games.
Paul Morris, Carlsberg’s Brand and Sponsorship Activation Manager said: “As well as providing a unique way to engage with our core consumers, it will drive national awareness of the Carlsberg brand and our strong links with football, including our sponsorship as Official Beer of the Premier League and the England Team.”
